Budget Bey does a good impression of knowing what that means. I should probably stick with making bagels. The game won’t let me say “yes” so instead I have to buy off said boss. Apparently I have a gig that evening but my boss wants me to do a double shift. Cruelly - even though I have a Whammy (although maybe that was just my precognition at play?) - I am put to work in a café making bagels. So I give up on that and instead play the game as a badly-dressed loser with Oliver Twist hair. As I try to go back to the game, it cuts out. The outfit’s a bit House of Deréon 2006 but I can’t afford anything better. I give myself a stage name (“Budget Bey”) and create my look in honour of the high priestess of pop. Here, though, everything starts to go wrong.
